I often get asked where the idea for St. Genevieve & Co. came from.

The truth is that I’ve always had the creative bug biting at my heels, ever since I was young. It bit me hard in college when my roommates and I would choose watching Trading Spaces® on the couch rather than learning about pre-century theology theories!

I’ve learned over the years that aesthetics are so much more than color schemes and space ratio. It is important to create something that you connect with and makes you happy.

A few years later, I married my sweetheart and became a mom and a step-mom to the funniest kids on the block and my “box o’ crafty things” became pushed even deeper into the back of the closet. I gave my wants and needs over to God and decided to let my clumsy faith lead me to the open door.

So as I searched for this outlet, I kept coming back to the idea that carried me through my wedding planning, TREAT THE BIG THINGS AS IF THEY WERE LITTLE AND THE LITTLE THINGS AS IF THEY WERE BIG.

In other words, don’t worry about the big stuff and enjoy making the details pop! My invitations were the ‘pop’ of my wedding…to me. And as we all know, what pops to the bride is what matters most! Details are remembered.

So I gathered my ideas, sprinkled in inspirations from others, and created St. Genevieve & Co.

(If my late grandma Gen knew I used her namesake she would say “oh kid”, then pinch me!)

The decorative papers I use at St. Genevieve & Co. are unique and beautiful and many of them are handmade, but most importantly, the elements are intended to be designed by you.

Set the scene of your big day! Grab the attention of friends and family invited to your parents anniversary dinner! Let the whole world know you’ve become a new mom again! Or create a beautiful noise about an upcoming holiday party! But don’t forget to let your imagination shine!

Let us do the work. You just sit back and enjoy making the little things big.

Five percent of all sales at St. Genevieve & Co. are donated to non-profit organizations. Our current partner is Preventing Abusive Relationships, Inc., a domestic violence education and counseling program located in Springfield, IL.

PAR works to keep victims safe, to hold batterers accountable for their actions, to educate communities and schools and to provide non-violent alternatives for juveniles. Donations are directed to broadening the juvenile program and community education activities.
